“To live a long, active, energetic life, few things matter more than good posture.”

(The Rejuvenation Strategy by Calliet and Gross)

The primary goal at Horbach Chiropractic/Bstrong4Life is to reduce or eliminate the harmful effect of abnormal posture on the body. By improving a patients posture and spinal position using state of the art techniques, the stress and strain upon the nervous system is minimized and the overall stress on the joints of the spine is greatly reduced. This improved posture and spinal position allows the body to function more normally, and in many cases prevents the abnormal wear and tear of disc degeneration and arthritis of the spine. The BStrong4Life System is a unique combination of technologies – bioDensity, Power Plate and the application of hands-on clinical bio-mechanics. The BStrong4Life System consists of warm-up and Core4, which includes four comprehensive isometric exercises; the upper -body press, lower-body press, core pull and whole body vertical life. This program complements regular chiropractic in the best possible way.

    Your 1st Visit

On your first visit to our office you will be greeted with a warm smile and welcomed as a member of our family. You will then be asked to fill out some forms that will help us gain important information about you and your condition. If you have health insurance you will be asked to provide your card so that we may, with your permission, make a copy for our records and of course to determine your coverage.

Your doctor will then dialogue with you and ask you some specific questions regarding your condition to determine if he thinks chiropractic care may be of benefit to you. If they think they can help you, they will tell you. If the doctor thinks he cannot help you, he will refer you to a doctor that will be able to help you the most. Nothing will be done in our office without your consent.

    Examination

After a thorough consultation with the doctor, you will have a complete chiropractic examination. This will include a detailed orthopedic and neurological examination to help establish which parts of your body are injured or affected, and help to determine the most likely cause of your problems. If necessary, the doctor may take x-rays or refer you for additional testing procedures.

    X-Rays

Many patients wonder why we take spinal x-rays. Spinal x-rays allow us to evaluate the condition of your spine. X-rays allow us to see things that would otherwise be hidden. Modern x-ray techniques allow us to actually rule out or measure the degree of structural abnormality present, and remove any doubt as to the full extent of each patient’s structural problem. This powerful tool enables us to make a specific diagnosis of your condition, and helps us determine the exact treatment that is best for you. Another feature unique to CBP care, is the ability to also measure the degree of improvement or when possible, the resolution of the structural challenge originally presented, and, when necessary, what is needed to prevent the challenge from returning in the future.

    Presentation of Findings

Once all the information and examinations have been performed, the doctor will have you schedule for a presentation of all of his findings. This is when the doctor will explain what he found, whether he can help you, how long it will take to correct and how much it will cost. The doctor will also discuss any questions you may have regarding your options for addressing your particular problem.

    Treatment

Dr. Horbach and Dr Leimback are proficient in a variety of different adjusting techniques. This allows them to be gentle enough for kids (they love us), yet able to restore function and movement for the athlete and seniors.

    Dry Needling

Dry needling is the insertion of sterile single use acupuncture needles directly into specific points on your body. Research studies have shown that inserting the needles into these points causes biochemical changes within the body, which help reduce pain.  Dry needling is similar to acupuncture.  It uses the same needles as acupuncture and may feel the same to the patient. Acupuncture is based on Eastern medicine and treating the Qi in your body, while dry needling is rooted in Western medicine and the evaluation of pain patterns, posture, and movement impairments in the body.

The goals of dry needling may be different for each patient, but the general purpose of dry needling typically includes the following:

    • Relieve pain and discomfort associated with joints, muscles, and nerves.
    • Improve your body’s function and ability to move correctly and efficiently.
    • Reduce trigger points, which are taught bands of muscle fibers that cause local and referred pain and limit your movement.
    • Aid and speed up our body’s own healing process after injury.
    • Manage pain in conditions that are chronic and have not responded adequately to other treatments.
    • Relieve muscle tightness and help recovery in athletes and active individuals.

Dry Needling is frequently used as part of a broader treatment approach.

The needle is very thin, solid, and flexible, which allows for the needle to be pushed throughout the skin versus cutting the skin. This helps reduce any discomfort that may occur with the procedure. Many people report the treatment is virtually painless, however at times a local twitch response of the muscle may be felt. When the needle is inserted into the injured tissue, the local twitch response sensation is normal and is felt only momentarily. These sensations are perfectly normal and even a desirable response.

    Custom Fit Orthotics

    EMTT – Extracorporeal Magnetotransduction Therapy

EMTT is a largely risk-free and side-effect-free method. As a patient, you will find the therapy very comfortable: The therapy loop is positioned over the area of pain while you remain fully clothed – direct skin contact is not necessary.

High-energy magnetic pulses are then transmitted to your body, where they take effect. A single treatment session lasts between 5 and 20 minutes, and between 6 and 8 sessions are required, depending on the severity of the condition and the response to the therapy.

EMTT treatment can have a positive effect on chemical reactions in pathologically altered cells. The cell metabolism can be reactivated and physiological processes can be normalised.
